What this does
Keeps the part between the start and end you choose and saves it in the same format.
What it can’t do
Join recordings or fade in and out.
A worked example
A recorded meeting starts with four minutes of people arriving. Trimmed from 4:10, the file sent round begins with the first agenda item.
Questions
- How do I set the start and end?
- Play the recording to find the times, then type them (for example 0:05 and 1:30) or drag the two sliders.
- Does trimming reduce quality?
- For WAV and FLAC, no. MP3, OGG and M4A have to be compressed again after cutting, which costs a very small amount of quality.
- Can I cut a piece out of the middle?
- Not in one step. Trim twice to get the two parts you want to keep.
Your file stays on this device
The tool above runs in a sealed frame that cannot send your file anywhere. It works with airplane mode on, and the counter above it stays at 0. Here is how you can check that yourself.
