SVG to PNG

Turn a vector drawing into a PNG picture.

What this does

Draws the SVG at high resolution and saves the result as a PNG, which every program can open.

What it can’t do

Use a font that is neither inside the SVG nor installed on your device. Text in a missing font is drawn in a similar one. Converting text to outlines in the drawing program avoids this.

A worked example

A logo arrives as an SVG, but the slide software wants a picture. The PNG keeps the transparent background and stays crisp on a projector.

Questions

How large is the PNG?
Its longer side is 2,048 pixels. A vector drawing has no fixed size, so it stays sharp at any scale.
Is the transparent background kept?
Yes. PNG supports transparency, and empty areas of the drawing stay transparent.
Why are scripts removed?
An SVG file can contain code and can ask for files from other servers. Before drawing it, the tool removes scripts, event handlers and anything that would contact another site.

Your file stays on this device

The tool above runs in a sealed frame that cannot send your file anywhere. It works with airplane mode on, and the counter above it stays at 0. Here is how you can check that yourself.
