What this does
Reads the text of every page and shows it in a box to copy or download as a .txt file.
What it can’t do
Read handwriting or scanned pages, or rebuild a table.
A worked example
A 30-page report is needed as plain text to quote from. The text comes out in a few seconds, with a marker at the start of each page.

- Why is there no text in my PDF?
- It is probably a scan. A scanned page is a picture of text, and this tool reads only real text.
- Is the layout kept?
- No. You get the words in reading order as plain text. Columns, tables and fonts are not kept.
- Can I mark where each page starts?
- Yes, there is a switch for page markers.
